Organic Castor Oil
Cold-Pressed, Unrefined Castor Oil for Skin Hydration, Hair Vitality, Lymphatic Support & Castor Oil Packs
Castor oil is one of the oldest and most versatile botanical remedies in the world, used for centuries across Ayurvedic, traditional African, and folk medicine traditions for skin nourishment, hair strength, and detoxification rituals. What makes it unique among plant oils is its exceptionally high concentration of ricinoleic acid, a rare omega-9 fatty acid that makes up nearly 90% of the oil's composition and is responsible for its deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and lymphatic-supportive properties. Anima Mundi sources theirs from organically grown castor seeds and cold-presses them without heat or refinement, preserving the full nutrient profile, including vitamin E, essential fatty acids, and naturally occurring antioxidants, for maximum purity and potency.
What Ricinoleic Acid Does
Ricinoleic acid is what sets castor oil apart from every other plant oil. Its molecular structure allows it to penetrate deeply into skin and hair without leaving a heavy, greasy residue. It binds moisture to the skin, supports the integrity of the skin barrier, and has well-documented anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that make it effective for a wide range of skin and hair concerns. It also supports lymphatic circulation when massaged into the skin, making castor oil a foundational tool in detoxification and self-care rituals.

For Castor Oil Packs
One of the most time-tested applications in traditional medicine, castor oil packs are applied to the abdomen with gentle warmth, and are used to support liver detoxification, promote lymphatic drainage, reduce pelvic congestion, ease menstrual cramping, and calm the nervous system. We recommend castor oil packs as a simple, accessible home therapy for supporting liver health, cycle regularity, and overall hormonal balance.
