How It Works

DIM (diindolylmethane) and I3C (indole-3-carbinol) are both dietary indoles derived from cruciferous vegetables, and they work in a complementary sequence. I3C converts to DIM in the presence of stomach acid, while also producing additional indole compounds including indole carbazole and 5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole that broaden the spectrum of estrogen detoxification pathways supported. By providing both compounds together, this formula supports a wider range of estrogen metabolite processing than DIM alone, shifting the balance away from 16-alpha hydroxyestrone, a more proliferative estrogen metabolite, and toward 2-hydroxyestrone, a more protective one.
