Hana Bancha Green Tea with Chrysanthemum
Japanese Green Tea with Chrysanthemum for Everyday Clarity, Calm & Gentle Liver Support
Hana Bancha is a daily drinking tea in the best sense: comforting, nourishing, and cleansing. Herb Folk blends Japanese bancha, a late-harvested green tea prized for its crisp, grounding flavor and naturally low caffeine content, with organic chrysanthemum flowers for a soft floral finish that is as pleasant to drink as it is supportive. Named in honor of herbalist Christina Leithe's great-grandmother, Hana Sonoda Kaku, this tea carries the weight of family and the spirit of Asian American herbalism that Herb Folk was built on. It is sourced from small, sustainable farms using organic or pesticide-free ingredients and packaged in low-carbon-footprint rice paper bags.
Key Ingredients & What They Do
- Japanese Bancha Green Tea (Camellia sinensis): Bancha is made from the late-harvested leaves and stems of the tea plant, which gives it a rounder, earthier character and significantly lower caffeine content than first-flush green teas like gyokuro or sencha. In Japanese daily life, it is the tea of meals, of everyday moments, of quiet steadiness. Rich in antioxidants including catechins and EGCG, bancha supports cardiovascular health, immune function, and healthy cellular aging without the stimulating intensity of higher-caffeine teas
- Chrysanthemum Flower and Petals (Ju Hua): In Chinese medicine, chrysanthemum is one of the most essential herbs for clearing Liver heat, brightening the eyes, and cooling inflammatory patterns that accumulate from stress, screen time, and overwork. Its sweet, slightly cool nature makes it a natural partner for green tea: where bancha grounds and nourishes, chrysanthemum lifts and clears. Together they offer a cup that supports the Liver and eyes, calms wind-heat patterns, and brings a sense of quiet clarity to the mind
